El Club Deportivo, founded under the auspices of the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile in 1937 and transformed into an independent nonprofit organization in the 1980s, is one of the most prestigious sports institutions in Chile and Latin America.
The new administration set a goal of increasing the Club’s financial sustainability by raising the percentage of its own revenue and implementing a cost-optimization plan that would prevent the Club from having to use its historical assets to finance its operations.
