The North West Air Ambulance is a UK charity, operating 365 days a year to provide enhanced pre-hospital care and hospital transfers to patients across the North West, covering an area of 5,500 square miles and over 8 million people.
With 11 charity shops taking card payments for second-hand sales and donations, payment processing is the core operational and fundraising enabler for the organisation.
ERA consultants Harry Harrison, Paul Seddon, and Malcolm Tait met with the NWAA to provide an initial pricing review. NWAA believed it was paying too much in banking and card processing fees, but the operational team lacked the time and resources to test the market properly. Although an alternative quote had been sourced, it could not be implemented due to compatibility constraints within the existing EPOS and Gift Aid setup.
