We all want to save on costs without compromising on quality. One of those fixed costs is what we spend on telecommunications. More important and perhaps more complex than ever; many companies are maintaining a hybrid working approach even after the mandatory teleworking period. Alternating between working from home and the office means a different use of telecommunications products. Let's take a look at how you can save on telecommunications.
ERA thinks along with you when it comes to tariff plans...
As a private individual; it is often difficult to see the wood for the trees when comparing all the tariff plans offered by telecom operators. The same applies to businesses: they don't always choose the most favourable formula either. It may be that the choice of a particular formula was made several years ago and that the contract has remained unchanged since then; meaning that current telecom usage is no longer relevant. The result remains the same: you are paying too much.
...but also at the level of the individual employee
In some cases; there is little benefit to be gained from tinkering with tariff plans. In many cases; the differences between tariff plans are rather limited; but even then it is possible to see where you can optimise at user level:
- Does the individual user's usage match the device and tariff plan used? The real power users are not always in the highest management positions; or maybe they are...
- To what extent does the end user work in a hybrid way? Does the user often work from home; more on the road or mainly in the office next to a landline? These are all aspects that influence usage peaks and therefore play a role in the final decision.
- Calls and texts are usually unlimited; but the included data usage is often a price-determining factor. Regular internet and email usage have little impact; but video calls; streaming services and updates can quickly take a big bite out of your data and budget. For example; check your smartphone settings to ensure that your operating system or apps are only updated via Wi-Fi.
- Are all users aware that international call rates still apply in some cases? Think of Switzerland; Andorra or Monaco; and what about calling the UK in the post-Brexit era? If in doubt; it is best to call via VoIP or WhatsApp.
This means you no longer have to pore over B2B tariff plans yourself. Our ERA Group will do that for you! We work independently; of course; and look at all possible solutions that are suitable for your company.
