The first step involved electricity costs, followed shortly thereafter by telephony and, from March 2018, waste management. The assignment illustrates that savings can often be achieved in radically different and sometimes unexpected ways, as well as at very different levels. In the case of waste management, an analysis, which primarily focused on cost comparisons, led to a new methodology that improved both the economy and reduced the environmental impact.
